Nominal Sizes vs Actual Size
While boltless shelving is specified in even inch increments, the actual size of the units is 1/2" greater in width, and 1/2" greater in depth. In addition,
when you are using starters and adders in a row there is an additional 1/4" growth between units. The extra half inch in width and depth
also means that you do not need to cut wood decking to a special size.
This growth is accounted for by the estimator. When you submit your specification, the estimator will provide a floor plan view with growth included in the
overall length of a row, rounded up to the nearest inch.
Wood Decking
Selecting this option will add wood decking to the shelving units. 5/8" underlayment grade particle board is what we would typically provide. Contact Cisco-Eagle
if you need an alternate decking material.
Cost Saving Tip
Particleboard is particularly dense and heavy. Because of this it can add significantly to the shipping costs. If you can purchase the wood decking locally,
it may be more cost effective than purchasing the decking from us and shipping it to your location.
